Eric Altoon is the founder of Law Offices of Eric A. Altoon, A Professional Corporation, and has been practicing real estate law for over 25 years. Mr. Altoon has been recognized among the top lawyers in the nation for his work in the area of real estate law in the 2023 edition of “The Best Lawyers in America,” one of the oldest and most distinguished guides to the legal profession.
Mr. Altoon specializes in representing local, national, and international clients (lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, developers, architects and contractors) in a variety of complex real estate transactions for office, industrial, commercial, retail, hospitality, gaming, residential, telecommunications and low-income housing projects, including the following: (i) leasing (office, retail, industrial, ground) and property management; (ii) acquisitions and dispositions; (iii) financing (acquisition, construction, permanent, mezzanine, refinance, workouts, restructurings and modifications, foreclosures, short sales, sale of distressed REO and notes); (iv) construction and development; and (iv) LEED certification of newly constructed buildings and interior commercial space of existing buildings. Mr. Altoon is also one of approximately 120 attorneys in California to be designated a LEED® AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional), which makes him qualified as an expert in the field of sustainable design with a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles (e.g., energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, and improved indoor environmental quality), and the LEED Green Building Rating System, to provide advice on leasing, acquiring, disposing, and financing of LEED certified projects and assist clients with obtaining certification in accordance with the LEED Rating System.

Mr. Altoon is currently on the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) and an Executive Committee member of the Real Property Section of the LACBA. Previously, Mr. Altoon served as the Chair of the Real Property Section of the LACBA (2019-2020), on the Planning Committee of the Urban Land Institute and as the Secretary and Board Member of the San Fernando Valley Green Team.
Mr. Altoon received a J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1997 and a B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994.
